  4. Saw one of those beasts back in 1992 parked at Lindbergh Field in San Diego. It had just landed carrying in the hull of the Russian Americas Cup entry. It dwarfed the commercial planes around it.

  5. I know I'm probably ignert, but I wonder how much expense is involved in sending a partially prepared airplane halfway across the country (or world) to have it completed somewhere else.

  6. Shame we wasted our talent promoting global-homo over achieving air superiority….nice pic.

  7. Refuled one when I worked at an airport. Most definitely not OSHA approved - had to put a ladder on top of the fuel truck to hook up the hose.

  11. Back in the day, place where I worked had those beasts in on a regular basis. They were flying 777 engines from GE test facility out to Washington. First flight in, aircrew paranoid and suspicious AF, couldn't get near the plane. Then they discovered there was a huge outlet mall about twenty minutes away. They'd grab a loaner car, come back literally stuffed and bulging with blue jeans and other items they could sell when they got home. After that, we were old and best friends.
