  1. a guy came up to me at the World Of Wheels show in Tyler Texas last weekend and was talking about his old car. I didnt see any old cars. Turns out he was talking about a car that was only SEVEN years old. The cars I drive are 93 and 74 years old. I dont have any modern cars (modern defined as --The automobile industry stopped making antique cars in 1948, after that cars became modern with overhead valves, automatic transmissions, air conditioning, etc.)

  3. way too much truth in that statement. it's kinda like telling someone a story and then it dawns on you that it happened 60 some odd years ago.

  5. Admit it. You're old. So am I, alas. Happens if you stay alive long enough. Poetic justice. 😁

  6. Loved my 79 K10, full time 4WD, 400 small block, put 455 thousand on it, the NH road salt gutted it. Regretted not storing it back, could have mounted an 88 style Chevy body on it later, pretty much bolts right on, the cab mounts are the same, same wheel base. It was the driveline and frame was valuable.

  7. in 2012 my 15 yr old son started talking about wanting a car, we told him if he became fluent in a foreign language wed get him a $4,000 car.
he did, and he wanted a 79 chevy stepside 4wd 4 speed. we found one with zero rust in AZ that barely ran , and bought it.

he became a good mechanic working on it, rebuilt the carb and all the brakes, added taller springs and bigger tires, swapped the axles, swapped the 4 speed for a NV3500 five speed, swapped the carb for TBI, added Vintage Air AC, swapped the 350 for a 2001 LS including doing the wiring harness for the 2001 EFI, etc etc etc
been his daily driver now for 12 years.

when my 05 Expedition finally dies my next ride with be the nicest squarebody 4wd suburban I can find.
