    1. Well, there was nobody in that part of the lander so no protection needed. It was just to reflect the sunlight to reduce heating of components and fuel.

  4. My aunt and uncle worked on the upper stage, remember they where very serious about it. Lot of pride being involved, mentioned everyone there was.
