  7. Chili doesn't have a peninsula like that and that is the Yucatán Peninsula on the other side. So, Mexico.

  8. The big bright spot in the upper left is Buenos Aires, Argentina. The smaller one just up and to the right of Buenos Aires is Montevideo, Uruguay. The extended white spot on the Pacific coast about halfway up the pic is probably Valdivia, Chile.
