And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I did the google lens on this picture thinking maybe there is the rest of the story? No story. But there are a lot of photographs of Christmas trees on fire in the house!
A bunch of us save our Christmas trees for a NewYears eve party, and set them on fire in top of a bonfire to get it going, they burn beautifully well, and it gets the party going right. Started this because where we live on 1st of the year its usually so cold gasoline will not light with a match, kind if smolders and stops. The fire is a necessity for every one hanging out side to stay warm. We roast a pig too, we all made it into a tradition now.
