  1. You can imagine their prayers: "Dear God please don't let this thing be radioactive."

    1. I'd be saying hail Mary's, strapped inside an aluminum can, like a human blow torch hitting the atmosphere at 34,000 miles per hour. Guess if it goes south it would happen fast at those speeds and temps. Every one of those capsules worked perfect. Kudos to the Apollo guys, they had serious balls. But a lot of good folks worked on those spacecraft, my aunt one of them, remember her saying, i was hardly a little tot, maybe 5 or 6 years old then, never forgot her words, she said word around the factory was "It ain't gonna fail cause of me."

  2. NASA sure went to a lot of trouble to fake the moon landings. (Kidding!)

    1. You are right, Elon (and team) could do better. But of course, we now know that it can be done, and how NASA did it. In the 90s, I had a subscription to NASA Tech Briefs in which they published the results of a ton of research NASA scientists and engineers had done. Anyone could subscribe and see a large portion of technology required to conduct R&D related to space flight. All the commercial and state-sponsored space programs around the world benefited from that. It’s a good thing

    2. Keep in mind that NASA was doing this with 1960's technology.
