  2. Way that hammer is striking, reminds me it may be a 25LB Little Giant hammer. Nice tool, hard to come by, used. Is one outfit started making selling replacement parts and brandy new hammers.

    1. I am guessing that by the frequency and consistency of the strikes, it is a machine-driven hammer.

    3. Some of us old fart blacksmiths need a power hammer because arthritis in the shoulder from years of swinging a hammer over the anvil.

  3. They are handy if your forge welding like say Damascus type steel, helps making more consistent strikes reducing cold shuts and other defects, provides more even patterns reducing unwanted distortion in the desired pattern welded steel.
