And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Necker's knob. One-handed steering. So you can drive while holding your girlfriend close. Requires a bench seat, though. She shifts for you, if a stick.
Looks like an MB/GPW grille to me. No "Willys" stamped on the hood sides, either. Windshield frame looks a bit tall, like a CJ2A, but that's easy to change, as is the hood, grille and hubs. Old "mongrelized" Jeeps are not uncommon.

Also known as a suicide knob, for one-handed steering. Pretty common in the 40’s and 50’s, rate today.

ReplyDeleteFixed tailgate and lack of side mounted spare says you’re right.
DeleteTook another, closer look. No tailgate, and loops at the rear corner. I'll say an MB (Willys), or a GPW (Ford).
ReplyDeletewould suit me as a neat small town grocery getter and GP putt-putter about.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an adult sized kid's Tonka toy...........................
