  3. Sometimes they painted nuclear capable aircraft white to reduce effects from being close to a detonation.

    1. On the bottom of the airplane, yes. They expected the NUDETs to happen on ground or at low altitude, with airplanes at high altitude. No need to paint the top white.

  4. Hip Wrapped inactive birds at Site 2 in Palmdale, CA. They used to keep the inactive SR-71s and the old A-12s there. I worked at Site 1 for years.
