Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Owned by JM Sauer, this gas station had only two pumps and it measured just three and a half by four feet. A trap door in the little gas station featured a spiral staircase that went downstairs into a larger space where there was a bathroom and a storage area for things like bulk oil. Now on display at the Becker County Historical Society.
There's an old Texaco station not much larger than that preserved on the property of a big old house here in Watkinsville, Ga.
