And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Didn't have this back when my dad decided to become a beekeeper (which meant I did too growing up). Had a copy of "The Hive and the Honey Bee" by Dadant. Oh, and a lot of FAFO.
My dad kept bees too and I learned a lot by watching him. I still remember the teatime treat of honeycomb and fresh cream. Now I wish that I hadn't been too busy years ago to take up the hobby.
Yeah, we kids were free labor. We were running about 4000 hives when I left for college. One day my dad said "You want to take over the business?" Thanks but no thanks.
