What Nation?

  1. Yeah, Spain has some ships that are similar to our amphibious assault ships - they can carry and launch Harriers & rotary wing (helos). Issue with Harriers is they certainly can take off in the vertical but it GULPS fuel. The Brits had a way to give them a bit of help with a "ramp" at the end of the launch path on their carriers. They still had the thrust vectoring at about 45 degrees (a guess) but not 90 degrees which is a fuel gulp.

    2. Surprisingly the French have the largest carrier outside of the US navy (40k tons). It’s also the only nuclear powered carrier outside of the US navy.

    2. Probably India. That certainly looks like the Indian Ocean in the background of the picture.

  9. Sorry, folks. Those people look nothing like Frenchmen. However, they look a bit Indian. Just an observation as I know nothing about the aircraft.
