There's also less expensive paperback versions

  1. I have the hard copy, purchased before marriage of course.

    1. Its a great book. I really like the chapter on the Wasp Major engine. Wife doesn't dare growl about my book buying and I buy a lot of books.
Another favorite is V's for Victory about the Alison 1710. I recall it being about twice the price of Magnesium Overcast.

  2. I got the softcover at the USAF Museum in Dayton, along with two others in the series, Valkyrie and Hypersonic (X15).
Big snowstorm in progress here at the moment. Might be a good night to curl up with a hot drink and a blu-ray of Strategic Air Command.

    1. I was lucky enough to pick up a copy of that on BluRay, it’s glorious!

  3. Dow chemical must have made a fortune supplying the magnesium.

  4. Be careful about paperback versions from Amazon. Some times they simply lower resolution photocopied versions on poor quality paper. Got an SR-71 book that was interesting but poorly photocopied. Buyer beware.
