And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The forest is plastered, literally, with snow. That'll all be runoff March-June.
Makes one wonder if the recent disastrous politics of fire mitigation will result in said runoff being captured this year or wasted to the ocean. I read recently that the smelt they are so worried about hasn’t been seen in those rivers in the past 12 years. Wasting the water to save something that’s not even there. Here’s hoping.
