  1. Looks like a true Series 70? Cocked and Locked...with no mag?
    Gorgeous

    1. Rule One: Every gun is always loaded.

This here image says want, want, want. My other Colts are giving me the stink eye.

  2. What I have always called the "Harley-Davidson" of hand guns. Like an H-D (pre '69) they are easy to use and fix and get the job done while showing "class".

  3. I am fortunate to own my grandfather's NY State Militia-issued M-1911 that was manufactured in 1913.

  4. Has anyone else noticed that blued handguns with white and/or off white grips are real beauties ? The two finishes compliment each other very well I think.

    1. Very much in agreement. In my case I had opted for wood grips on my, dare I say it, Tisas 1911A1. Now looking at this, I am rethinking towards a similar set. Thank you for pointing that out.

    2. I have my holsters made by a local. I thought that that holster was an OWB holster, but I looked at Sparks page and I see that it is an IWB holster.
Fact remains, 1911s present an issue to a left hander with carrying in condition one.
I know all of the arguments, but they all go out the window (for me anyway) when I take that gun off, and the thumb safety has been disengaged.

    3. "They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled pistol.".

  5. Gorgeous pistol — and a fine holster to carry it in, Milt Sparks Summer Special. I love mine …

  6. LH holster.
    I'm LH and when I carry a 1911, I carry condition 3.
With this type of holster particularly, the thumb safety is facing away from the body and can be easily disengaged with a bump.
I KNOW this to be true.

    1. You raise a valid point BUT as someone already noted, that's a Milt Sparks Summer Special, which is an inside the waistband design. Therefore, a right-handed holster, and the safety faces in. Don't take my word for it, google it up.

  7. The way God and St. John of Ogden meant Americans to kill our enemies. Have one on my hip as I type this.
