And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Nothing like scrubbing in a fresh set, grind off the mold release oil, they slide like the dickens first couple corners till the carcass gets some exercise and warms up. Then those first dozen hard laps give up the best feed back and you get some good lap times under you, from there you can feel how your tires are working and what they will give you for cornering speed. Last few sets I was fortunate enough to get from the Michelin guy at the track, where European produced light weight grand prix tires, i had a super light weight bike at that point, and the available tires up till then whee for heavier bikes everyone else was running, so he special ordered some sets for me, in all my years racing nothing ever came close to how those tires stuck to the road, I could carry speeds into and out of corners which quite honestly scared the shit out if me. Never ran so fast before, and the out braking effects where insane, led to some if the best races I ever ran, winning a couple championships because of those tires. once at Daytona I had to borrow a rear end from a fellow racer, had no time to change tires and went out with the older heavier compound rear, first corner I crashed and burned as that rear when I spooled up the throttle coming out of the apex starting the first lap, it spooled up alright, right into a vicious high side and a race career ending head injury. It was fun while it lasted!
