The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? I've mentioned this story in the past, but the short version of it is that I once met a young guy...mid-20's....in an occupational rehab clinic where he was learning to live his life as a paraplegic. He had gone over the handlebars of his mountain bike.
Every man watching that video knows he was hurt by that accident. A trip to the Doctor or the ER was not out of the question. But he was very close to even more serious injuries.
These videos are always satisfying. I once worked with a guy who had a biking accident and showed up to work with both arms in casts. Pretty damn funny.
That face you make when you're looking at the landing and take your eyes off the handlebars, which shift slightly in flight because you took your hands off them, causing you to grab for what isn't there, right before gravity makes you her bitch.
Like I said, anyone can learn physics, even without a textbook or classroom.
