And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Interesting how the 30 year old bird has flown so long with such a decent flight hour record, at a sustainable per hour cost, in comparison, yet both do pretty much the same in the stealth department.
Where are you getting that they have the same radar signature? As I understand, they most definitely do not. Additionally, the F-117 is a bomber (designated "F" to make it easier to recruit fighter pilots to fly it) whereas the Raptor is a supercruise capable, thrust vectoring, air dominance fighter.
I worked om White Sands Missile Range. you would see this often. a stealth doing stealth things and a metal plane in tight formation so they could know where the stealth was.
The "metal" plane here is more stealthy than the "stealth" plane in this pic.
But I know what you meant. Watched a B-2 flying in a Red Flag over the dry lake north of Baker, CA. With a T-38 in trail, so the E-2 AWACS could tell where the B-2 actually was.
