And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Forest Island in Guangzhou, China. What a nightmare.
No *publicized* riots. As I understand it, the gov't has 100% control of the "news", including all social networks. If it slightly makes China/the gov't look bad it is buried deeply. I have seen photos of Chinese police erecting screens around things (demonstrations, arrests, infrastructure failures, etc) so that people couldn't see/photograph the incident.
After all this time, we pretty much know and understand that the Middle East is the so-called "cradle of civilization" and definitely the rood of all evil.
Imagine trying to fight a fire there.

That's a lot of people...
ReplyDeleteImagine the smell
ReplyDeleteThat little forest there is where the enema tube goes in.
DeleteMy nearest neighbor is a half a mile away and still too close.
ReplyDeleteDowntown Guangzhou, ass**le to elbow and making your neighbor smile.
ReplyDeleteand yet, no riots, hmmmm, what could be missing??

DeleteNo room to hold a riot. No room to swing a cat!
DeleteIn China, you even talk about riot or protest, and they send in the Red Army tanks.
DeleteWouldn't it be great if all of our problems were caused by one easily-identifiable group of people?

DeleteThat's "ROOT of all evil... If we could turn the entire Middle East into a glass covered parking lot, the world would be a far better place.
DeleteImagine trying to find an address in that. - Nemo
ReplyDeleteHow many American take out, or all you can eat buffets.
ReplyDeleteNYC's Central Park in another 50 years?
ReplyDelete- WDS
Bet that park doesn't have any muggers, now or then.
DeleteThis is just one very small part of Guangzhou, and it's all like this.
ReplyDeleteIn comparison, New York/Chicago/LA/Detroit are downright spacious!
