And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had a pair of Sorel's many years ago. I liked them a lot, except I didn't care much for the felt liners. Eventually the stitches gave out between the uppers and the lowers. I see the lacing has gotten more sophisticated too.
I've had mine since the mid-1980s. Are well used but lots of years left in 'em. The lacing eyelets are D hooks riveted to the leather, not sewn tabs as shown. Seven pairs of eyelets.
Clarks and Sorels are two I'd buy again. Took Redwings off that short list years ago.
Old Sorels : awesome New Sorels: Made in China, not so good, sent a couple pair back as the sizing was off and could tell the workmanship wasn't much better.

Like most boots or shoes, too small and too narrow. I need a 13 4E and they are damn hard to find.
ReplyDeleteGot a pair on right now. Heavy, flop a little, easy on-easy off, work good.
