And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Back in the late 1950's, my career Air Force father was stationed at Hickam AFB in Honolulu. When we'd drive in to the Main Gate of the base, the next thing that we'd see was the flight line and almost too many C-124's to count lined up on the runway.
I never saw them much until my father was sent to Lackland for his last duty station. Kelly had a couple on the AF Reserve flight line. This was 69-71.
I did get to see a B-36 fly over when I was about 4 years old. One thing I well remember even thought I was fairly young at the time. A very noisy AC on launch.
The cargo is a DeHavilland Canada Otter. I would guess that this pic was taken in Antarctica. It would take a long time to get there in an Otter. Al_in_Ottawa

I remember the rumble of a 36 flying over, but too high to really see. Ceiling at FL40, I believe.
