And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
From what I hear there are many rules & regulations for mining & the permit ain't cheap. And there isn't much mining on the Gulf of America so I think I'll go fishing.
Hobby operations that would use the above are not expensive. Less than 3 miles from my place there is a large swath of B.L.M land to prospect on. Panning and sniping is free. A sluice box operation is supposed to be $5/day. They never come around and check though, it's too much of a hike in. I will admit though, I will need to go prospect for around 300 years ( at present rate) to pay for the tools.
The kit is missing a shovel, a 5 gal home depot bucket and something for your back after a day of moving rocks ... (the sarcasm will be missing if you actually find a nugget!)
I've been looking since I was in 2nd grade. I now have a pan and check just for fun when out in the woods camping. Never found anything but nice people who always want to stop and visit. That's gold!
