And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Great story. The first time my brother in law the doctor met my fiancee, he picked him up at the airport for me. We pulled a practical joke on him by having my fiancee wear 'billy-bob teeth', which look terrible. The poor doctor spent all sorts of time wondering what was wrong with his mouth and what caused all that damage before he pulled them out and he found out he had been had! It was the best joke.
Met him and his wife once. I took my two young kids over to his table and told them that this man had scared,e to death when I was a kid. He looked at meand said, “ well i didn’t stunt your growth much, did I.”
