  1. I had one for about two years. I had a motorcycle as backup transportation. I rode the motorcycle most of the time.

  2. Man, they where excellent trucks. Had 18 Scouts, one of the little pick-up versions, and a big old Travel-All, ran a snow plow business with them. That Travel-All was so heavy didn't need to put it four wheel drive with the plow giving it traction weight.
Whished I kept at least one for myself when I sold the operation, but back then they where rust buckets till you refurbed them, bought all of them for $350 or less, some with plows even, people couldn't give them away practically back in the mid 80's.

  3. My little red 800 took me everywhere with its little 4-banger 196. Utterly unstoppable.

  4. Well VW is reviving the name (inherited with purchase of Navistar) so you can have an all new corn binder in a couple of years.

Looks like the old Scout II. Too bad it's an EV, and won't ever sell.

  5. I worked for the company that made the rear seats for Scouts. One day while searching the archives I came across the D size ink drawing for the rear row frame. There also was a mini-bike frame, and a AA fueler frame. Engineering manager at the time shit canned the paper drawings when the company went digital. Idiot!
