And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I was stationed at CG Air Station Chicago & the first time I flew up to Green Bay was in the winter. There were little houses all over this large, flat snow covered area and I asked the pilots about it, "Green Bay & fishing ice houses". It was a small town! That was the winter of 90-91.
Having lived in Minnesota and endured 10 very long winters, this scene is just another winter day for those folks. I seem to remember seeing lakes with over 100 "ice houses" on them.

ReplyDeleteReminds me of Grumpy Old Men, looks like Chucks taking the skin boat to tuna town.
