  1. Unfortunately it recently had a crash landing and is no longer flying. It is, however, still sending data on a regular basis. There are plans afoot for a larger improved model for the next mission.

  2. Elon Musk stated that the greatest challenge to putting people on Mars
    was getting them through the Van Allen Radiation Belt safely.
    Space X is actively working on that conundrum.

    Too bad NASA lost all the data on how they did it with the "Moon" missions.

    1. That info would have been classified Top Secret and compartmentalized. Along with that comes controls and retention periods. You don't just accidently lose or throw out info like that.
