  4. It's a National, steel body. Dobros came after Dopera bros started building resonator guitars, but out of wood. The resonator remains unchanged from original design.

  5. we had one, my dad's, from c.1934 with a tropical scene "frosted" on the back. I can see him throwing it in the trash c.1970.

      story: out of high school, became ill with "blood poisoning" (?) in lower legs, put him 1-2 years off a contract with the Cinci Reds farm system. bought the guitar for something to do in the interim. then played three years Welch WV Miners, Williamston, NC Martins, Durham Bulls.
