    1. Shifter. The older ones had a manual lever.

    2. That was my first thought, but seems an inconvenient location. I guess I'd have to sit on it to tell just how inconvenient, but that I've never seen one like that (and I'm not THAT old) tells me it wasn't that great an idea.

  3. 45 Cubic Inch Indian, made from 1928 to 1931, called a '101', this Indian was famous for its balance and was used on the Wall of Death. They were stripped down, no lights, no fenders or front brakes. Mine had big cloth pads over the tanks
