And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
One caveat: "Ham radio". Get the license before you press XMIT. The test isn't that hard (35 multiple-choice questions from an officially-published list of 300). Violators aren't dinged that often; but when they are, the fines start at $10k.
This is one of those "intended use" decisions. Baofung is a great value, but if you read the serious reviews (such as ARRL, not Amazon) a lot of their models are sloppy with respect to RF. For the casual or emergency user, this is not going to be an issue. If you're a frequent multi-purpose, dedicated ham operator, you would do well to ensure the Baofung model you intend to buy is one of their cleaner ones. Just sayin'.
Good kit for $58 (how is that possible?)...ours are great around the homestead.

ReplyDeleteWhy not just say 3.8Ah?
