And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Well.... It's a clever idea, but I would have thought the whole point is to have a working cooking area proximal to the cargo area, which is where the supplies are. They should have picked the other side - set up this way, they have to walk around the spare tire every time they need something out of the cargo area.
Would have been easier all the way around to rig something similar to the INSIDE of the spare tire bracket. Then, as Aggie described, he'd be right in front of his supplies.
Plus, if he was clever, he could just fold it up behind the spare and leave it there for next time.
I have a spare tire like that on my 4x4 2 dr Blazer so I'm going to investigate how feasible this is. My tire swings the other direction. I do like the side tread on them skids though.
I got those tires for my 4 runner last time buying tires. not cheap but work great in the snow and ice in pa. a fair bit of road noise otherwise they seem to be wearing well too, coming up on the 3rd year with them. back when I was doing outdoors stuff, I made a sliding table that came out of the back and 2, 1/2 inch pipes as support on the far end. simple flange thingie work out really well for 10 years or so. that was my old 1989 4runner. sold it last summer inside of 2 days to some guy out of state. the 2016 4runner, well it is what I called a "mall wagon" not too bad off road or on snow and ice. but the old one was much better ! trying to get a 94 4runner up and running now as I miss not going in the woods. not sure as to why as I not in shape to go there anymore. too old and banged up. everything hurts at times too. not a good thing by any means.

Cooking near the gasoline inlet?
ReplyDeleteYou'd have to stoop to use it. Surely there are better solutions.
ReplyDelete...and forget to stow and drive off...
ReplyDeleteWhich some geniusii will do, to a metaphysical certainty.
DeleteI think it's a great idea! A place to fix a quick meal where you stop.
ReplyDeleteYes...but another tire well, away from the gas cap would be wiser...
ReplyDeleteToyota Land Cruiser FJ80 from the 90s.
ReplyDeleteA small table would be better.
ReplyDeleteBut it wouldn't look as cool. Priorities dude!
DeleteBought one a couple of years ago. I use it on my Jeep and travel trailer. Well worth the price.
