Tidbits:
Richard's armor was so good that the arrows shot at him just stuck and didn't penetrate. He had so many arrows stuck to him in some battles that he looked like a pincushion, and the Arabs began to believe he was unkillable.
In one battle, Richards horse was killed out from under him, and he fought on on foot. Saladin and his generals, seeing this, were appalled, and ordered a fine horse to be sent down to the king, as 'it was unfitting that such a noble king should not fight on a horse."
Agreed and the "directors cut" was even better as it filled in a lot of backstory that Ridley Scott had to cut out due to runtime. Made the story more realistic. I think that actor that played Salahudin should have gotten an award.
