And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Someone tell that skinny little thing in the back of the ElCamino she has the wrong eye closed better yet tell her she should be shooting that shotgun with both eyes open.🙂 Klaus
Last pic reminded me of a restaurant (Nieuport 17) I bussed at in the late 60s in Santa Ana, CA where the owner threw an annual party celebrating Blue Angels' pilots.
One of my colleagues has a son who's daily driver is an F-18. He sent his dad a pic he made of the bridge flying along the length of it. His dad made sure all of us got to see his boy in his 'office'.
The various Feds really dislike aircraft flying UNDER a bridge. Since day one of flying. I suspect it is due to them thinking that pilots are incompetent at judging clearances. BTW, the top scoring US pilot of ww2 got his chance at fighting due to the charges leveled at him for flying under that bridge.
It is so great to have the Friday "Open Road" photo essay. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOne comment: The image of the lady with the German Shepherd while she is sitting on the side of the cliff makes my stomach to flip - flops...

ReplyDeleteAren’t they suppose to fly under the bridge?

In his P-38 Lightning...
DeleteMight have flown a LOOP around the bridge! Not sure, and my book on him is not available.
