And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Damn that's a crappy hold down. Looks like quarter or three-eights rod. Wonder if the rest of the build quality is like that? I expect better of DeWalt, especially on the big saw. The hold down on my 10" Bosch is 5/8 rod with a way better adjusting mechanism and clamp.
I bought an earlier version of this saw about 5 years ago and found it quite satisfying for the work I was doing. Prior to the recent inflation, it was priced about $190 or so, IIRC. I built a barn, a chicken run, and some garden beds with it in summer of 2020. I also cut some base molding for inside the house. I decided that I didn’t need the sliding version and saved myself over $100, maybe $150.
