Interesting. Wonder how well they work.

  1. Commonly referred to as Easy Outs. They work very well once you drill a pilot hole in the screw or bolt head.

  2. These work and I highly recommend them.

  3. They work well if your pilot hole is centered and you don’t bust one off trying.

  4. I’ve got a set in my toolbox. The trick is to drill a deeper pilot hole than you think you should and go easy on the easy out. They work well for 6-32 & 8-32 screws; not so much for anything bigger.

  5. Always worth the try anyways.

  6. When tightening down a screw or bolt, torque it down until the head snaps off, then back it off a quarter turn.

  7. Can't use them unless you installed the fastener with an easy-in.

    1. Not true.
I've used both types many times successfully.
      Takes patience, and brute strength.
