And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The extra stabilizer must be artistic license. The artist obviously did not fly. The plane is a Fairchild 71c serial no. 636. It was owned by Canadian Transcontinental Airways in 1927.
The registration marks under the wing are oriented to be read correctly as the aircraft flies over you from the front ie if you're standing at the end of the runway during take-off. It was in the Aeronautics Act, I remember the question on one of my exams. We bought a fleet of seven planes from the US, two of them arrived with the underwing registration painted upside down (bottom of the letters at the front of the wing) and nobody noticed for over a year. don't ever remember seeing a tail section quite like that one
ReplyDeleteWhy is there a dual horizontal stabilizer on the right side of the tail but a single on the left side?

The 2nd one is just the wing

ReplyDeleteGood call on the wing. I did not notice that. My apologies to the artist.
DeleteHowever, notice the call sign on the main wing.
DeleteNo matter how you look at it, its backwards and in some cases, upside down.
