And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
For the most part, we US Marines in Vietnam, had close air support from this jet. If I am not mistaken, it was a US Navy plane. They'd come in on target, fairly high but really fast. ANY CAS was totally appreciated but US Marine CAS was awesome and normally right on target.
USMC used to be part of the Department of the Navy. Marine pilots and NFOs are/were Navy-trained. Marine aircraft and repair parts were bought with Navy dollars. One of my college roommates became a Marine aviation-supply officer, and told me they used the Navy supply system for the aviation-related stuff.
Is that Steve Canyon in the drivers seat?
ReplyDeleteLoved that show!
