And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Tears at the heart to see an abandoned railway. The labor to make the tunnel, lay the road bed. No longer considered useful? Or consumed by the Parasites that came thereafter only to destroy. Jerry
Parasites that were too lazy to pull the rails for scrap after sucking the life blood. Considering the obsession with electric, What would the country look like if the old Milwaukee Road had stayed with electric instead of switching to diesels back in the day? Jerry
Broken axles would be the demise in a "boulder field" for that Jeep. Boulders are quite simple to drive over if one learns to pick the right line. 6 x though the Rubicon in a '62 CJ-5 with 33" tires . Not a dent.
The gif is the corkscrew at Laguna Seca racetrack. Yes, the jeep has ample ground clearance but can it make a tight turn with those huge wheels hitting the bodywork? Al_in_Ottawa
My favorite is the one with the dog.

Gov over-regulation and poor management plus subsidized air travel and free roads for trucks. Hard to compete.
DeleteAnother great collection! I like the VW bus with the dog, looks natural..
ReplyDeleteI realize that I really like the tunnel pictures that show up every week....
Now that jeep makes sense. I laugh when I see “off-roaders” with low axles. Good luck in a boulder field mate.

DeleteDirt bikes with low mounted exhaust pipes? And a fairing of sorts on pic 2?
ReplyDeleteThat VW bus turned to ice because the heater just couldn't keep up with the cold.

DeleteIt didn't have the optional blowtorch feature some Veedub's had.
DeleteIf that old railroad tunnel is alongside I-90 about 20 miles east of Seattle, I've walked into it about 1/4 mile. It looks like what I remember.
ReplyDeleteLooks like European road signs off to the left of thew pic. I loves me some old railway stuff, too.
DeleteGoog couldn't tell me anything about the pic, but its on ETSY as well.

I’ve driven Laguna Seca many times……in video games.
DeleteI like the ones with the Cow Dog on the console and the Cow Girl driving the manual transmission.
ReplyDeleteSimple pleasures are the best.
Is it Friday already?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to inject a tiny bit of humor into this most amazing, fantastic and beautiful photo display.
Thank you!!!
