The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? I've been motorcycles over 50 years and the "ape hanger" bars have always looked impracticable and uncomfortable to me. The extended forks clown option is not only impracticable but outright dangerous.
#17 is the Wheeling (WV) Suspension Bridge, in its day (1849) the longest in the world, built to carry the National Road across the Ohio River. The view is looking west to Wheeling Island and into Ohio. My dad grew up there & I recognized it instantly from childhood visits.
