And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

/ Edward Hopper, Cobb’s Barns and Houses in the Distance, 1931
Hopper's mentor was Martin Lewis. A location is given in NYC for Hopper's "Nighthawks", but it is a fact the location is ficticious as the diner did not exist. I know people who swear they were in it.
The west side of the block of W15 to W16 along 7th Ave does indeed define Hopper's "Early Sunday Morning".
I know it's not, but that looks like Palouse country, along the Washington/Idaho border.
