And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Interesting that you bring up that round. I used to have a vintage revolver chambered in that round. It had the worst trigger pull I've ever seen, so it was hard to shoot it accurately, but the cartridges were cute.
I think we are talking about different cartridges. The 7.5 Swiss (7.5x55) is a full sized rifle round, very similar to a .308 Winchester. I am not familiar with that pistol round you are referring to but it sounds intriguing !
7.5x55mm Swiss has a really interesting Wikipedia page. It's always fun to learn about a caliber/cartridge I knew little about. Thanks for the tip, gentlemen.
That's enough for a good weekend at the range. Not nearly enough to be considered a "stockpile". Of course to the media whores 10% of that would be an "arsenal". In reality the only time you can have too much ammo is if you are drowning or on fire.
I lived in New Jersey for a few years after getting out of the Army. I remember reading a news article where they described a couple of shotguns, a rifle and a couple of hundred rounds of ammo as an “arsenal.” I remember thinking that back home in Tennessee, that’s what you’d find just in the truck, much less in the house. I left the northeast as quickly as I could and moved back to America.
Not so much. Those bandoliers, hell, all of that should be in moisture-proof mil-spec ammo cans, or the like.
Nothing worse than pulling out a worthless Garand clip rusted up and covered with verdigris because the cotton bandoliers are hydrophilic to the extreme, just when the zombies are coming in waves.
I have 1100+ rounds of .30 carbine in bandoliers that are packed so full of protectant I don't know how they got them in the ammo can. I pulled one up to have a look and had a heck of a time shoving it back in.
That 7.5 Swiss is a great vintage round. It deserves more popularity - the old school Swiss single pulls are fun to shoot and what an action !

Poor planning.
Stocked for a beginner. Maybe have 2000-5000 rounds per caliber.
