    1. I'm disappointed Sammy didn't include a link. I was looking forward to bringing $95 an hour right Q now just on a computer. I was going to use the money to become more literate in English at the University of Nairobi.

  2. For a lever action, I prefer the Winchester 94.
    Lighter, trimmer, faster handling.
I know I’m going to take flak, but there’s no use for a scope in heavy eastern brush.
And nothing bigger than the .30WCF is needed.
(Although, I do own one in .375 Win.)

    1. if i could own only one it would be a pre 60's 94 winchester. i have carried one since i was 10 and it has never once let me down. i own many and it's still one of the best shooters i own. fast, light and easy to carry. holds 6+1.
that gun saved me from a mt lion one time in my youth in Nevada. when i saw him he was over my head in a cotton wood tree, ass up and tail twitching.

    2. On the hunting cabin porch in N East PA in the early 70's, in a snowstorm, trying to unload it so I could take it into the cabin for the night. It wasn't happy to unload a full cartridge. Had to dismantle the action. Seems there is a part that wears, that causes that issue. Early 6 digit S/N. Long gone.

  3. I have a 94 in .44. Needs to be a Henry with the brass receiver in there somewhere. Just got one for my wife for her birthday. She just kept crying saying I never thought I would own one!!!

  4. They’re nice, but they’re not Winchesters…. Even if you don’t like scopes, a micro red dot on a scout mount would be the cat’s meow for close range hunting. Especially for older eyes.

  5. For year round carry, I think a .357 Magnum has a lot to offer, especially the 16" barrelled Trapper. But that takes a back seat to the 30-30 when it comes to deer hunting.

  6. have a .410/Henry that weighs a ton. was given to mecas home protection.

    I would like a Marlin in .44 or .357.

  7. I have a 94 in Dirty-30 as well as the .375WIN. Great guns. Winchester, Marin, Henry, all good stuff.

  8. Got a couple of Marlins and a Winchester and a really interesting Savage 99 takedown 30/30 with a rotary magazine and a digital ammo counter- the lever gun everyone forgets about.

  9. 30/30, if you can find it, goes for $1.65 per rd, incl. tax.

    1. I remember when .30-30, and .30-06 could be bought in ant hardware store. And a few auto parts stores.
When asked my favorite cartridges, I named those two. For that reason.
Change is seldom a good thing.

  10. Kinda looks like four brand new Ruger made Marlins that the LGS just got in to sell at a very modest markup.
