  1. Stick with TCCC approved brands. Too many cheap knock offs.

    1. Bullshit.
If you know how to use one and have experience doing so, you can make them out of 1/2" PVC pipe and nylon strapping from discarded items for next to nothing. I've made dozens and they are much simpler to use than the so called "approved brands" that are loaded up with unnecessary doo-dads.
Yes, I was a medic in the army.

    2. and you sir are full of shit. when you need a tourniquet you dont have time to mess around. your ill advice will likely kill some one. just as the chinese knock of units will. Stick with CAT, or SOFT if you are betting your life on equipment. and you "medic" stick to bandaids.

  2. Related is my recommendation to attend a Stop The Bleed course. If you're not aware, these are sort of like a CPR course. I last went 3, maybe 4 years ago and I'm planning on dragging my son to get refreshed on this after the holidays. If you're a shooter or a hunter, knowing how to stop traumatic bleeding is a skill that you ought to have. [And yeah, I recommend real tourniquets. Any that you find on Amazon cheaper than about $30 are probably fake chinesium.]
