Jump!

  1. Don't jump! Lot of old bridges are placed where there was a natural ford. At least check the depth of the water first. Drop the wife first.

  2. I was on a work crew in the early 1970s. We did exactly this on our lunch break. A couple guys dived in head first, but no way I was doing that. Feet first only, off the top rail. Probably just a few feet higher than this bridge here. Good times. I think I was 15 or 16.

  3. When me and my cousin were about 14 we were at the Colorado River and climbed up on a huge rock about 40 ft above the river. Adults were daring us to jump which would have been certain death in the swift current.

  5. I was always taught you never jump or dive into water of unknown depth. knew a man who jumped off a pier and hit a pylon..in a wheel chair a quadriplegic now with little use of body except his hands with limits.

  6. We always tested the depths before jumping off bridges.

  7. Looks like the regular summer hangout. I am sure they all know the depth to a certainty. Great way to grow up.
