And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

We had a pretty amazing country. Pity we didn't take care of it. But the schools and the media being the tools used to destroy the country wasn't something we expected.
Yeah, make America great again. Let's make some more battleships! The aircraft carrier made battleships obsolete. It and the nuclear submarine, particularly the boomer, are the 21st Century equivalents. I've never been aboard either, but they seem pretty amazing.
Laid the keel down 27 June 1940, launched it 27 August 1942.
