Meanwhile, on the Faroe Islands...

  1. A stunning but slightly unnerving setting with a sturdy home...neat and tidy with an amazing view. I do like the fence line in the background but would still have to keep an eye on the kiddos.

  2. Must be an expensive place to live.

  3. I wonder what they do for a living? Sheep maybe...

  4. There appears to be some sort of line on the roof. It looks to be about six feet long. It runs from about near the upstairs window, down to right above the entry door. Did the house, "settle" after a while? So that they had to fix the roof?

I saved the image, opened it back up, and used the zoom function, but I cannot tell. It does not appear to have anything to do with that white vertical pipe (downspout?) that is near the entry door.

    2. Thinking it is a "Water Diverter" to control some of the run-off from the dormer.

What is does is push that run off away from shedding over the eaves right above the doorway.

  5. Wikipedia:
"The islands are windy, cloudy, and cool throughout the year with an average of 210 rainy or snowy days per year."

    Well, that explains THAT.

  6. Only takes a week to get to a grocery store, a week back and a week to get them up to the house.

  7. Wouldn't want to stagger home drunk after a night out! Even if there was anywhere to go to get drunk!
