Studies for the Transfiguration, Raphael

Wouldn't it be something to be able to pick up a pencil and scratch out something like this?

You can. Anybody can. But you have to want to.
Most people don't really want to though, they'd rather do something else. shrug

I picked up a pencil when I was 4 and have rarely laid it back down in the 64 years since. Most of the initial stages of my daily livelihood are conducted with pencils and pens, markers and brushes. Supposedly takes 10,000 hours to get comfortable, then it's 2nd nature after that. It's like everything else, you get better the more you do it. It doesn't require "talent" but rather "perseverance". Never give up. Ever.

  3. Not everybody can. It's not a matter of "want to". I can't pick up a pencil and draw anything. It's not "in me". I've tried, believe me, I've tried and I want to - it's not there. But I can write and I've been writing since I was able to put two words together on paper. We all have different talents and abilities. It's up to us to develop the raw product that God has given us.

  4. I can barely draw a stick man. As to putting two words together: Does F... Y.. count?
    No insult intended.
