    1. That assertion makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

      Navy divers have been deploying with the fleet for something like 70-80 years, and featured in probably half a dozen widely known and popular movies during that time, not least of which The Frogmen(1951) and Up Periscope(1959).

    1. Poor Gus Grissom couldn’t catch a break. First, the Liberty Bell 7 incident with the explosive bolts, then the Apollo 1 fire.

  3. My cousin was transferred the USS Hornet for the Apollo 12 pickup. When the ship returned to port, my Dad sent him a telegram (which he had to wait in line an hour to receive) that said "Well done".
