And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
yup. that is a bobcat. my grandfather had the pelt of one hanging in his barn. story was, he was riding home on his mule one night after doing a lot of hog cutting and had a leg behind him. the bobcat tried to take said meat. they fought over it. grandpa had his knife and the cat had claws. grandpa won and brought home the meat. but he sure carried the scars from it until he died. he used to say this about it, "I think the cat won, he not in pain anymore". he had a lot of scars too. he also said the meat was good tasting.
