Snapping turtle found swimming in northern Minnesota

  3. Back in my Minnesota days from time to time you'd find snapping turtles crossing the road. My wife would stop & put it in the back of the pickup to show the kids then it would go into the nearest lake...
    All of that leading (I'm sure) to the turtle abduction stories... :-)

  4. livin' in cool clear water makes for real good eating. always helps to flush them ones that come outa muddy environs.

  5. Looks upwards of 20 KG (45+ Lbs) and coming from a cool clear MN waters should make for fine eating.

  8. So, on one of the first dates with my now wife, we were driving down the road (in town), she noticed some boys looking at a Snapper on the side of the road, she said, pull over! I stopped, we got out, she asked the boys if they were going to keep it? Nope, she grabbed it by the tail and dropped it in the trunk, to bring home to eat. So, snapper, after you kill and butcher it, it continues to move. Then if it's frozen up, once defrosted, it starts to move again.
