    1. Ceiling fan blades tend to accumulate a lot of dust. Bedsheets might not need changing quite so often if the fan blades weren't tossing dust all over the room all the time.

      That's my take on it anyway.

  2. Dust, pet hair and anything else floating around builds up on the leading edges of the blades. Makes the motor work harder, and not as efficiently. Also affects the balance of the blades. If your fan is "ticking", try cleaning the blades first.
